Golfing in Orlando
Florida is a paradise for golfers and there is a huge range of golf courses within an easy drive of our villa to suit all abilities and pockets. If golf is your passion there is a myriad of choice.
Why not try Esprits' 9 hole golf course. Within a 2 minute walk of the villa. You can hire your golf cart & drive around the extremely well kept greens over looking the tranquil lake. If the heat becomes too much while playing a round or two you can take a break at the club house or go back to the villa to cool off, with a nice cool drink round your private south facing pool before returning to your game, the rates at Esprit are more than reasonable.
Our particular favourites, other than the unrivalled Champions Gate National and International, are Diamondback and Timacuan. They’re a bit further a field but worth the extra drive and value for money can’t be beaten. These courses give you the true Florida golf experience just how you want it. Plenty of spectacular par 3’s over water, tree lined fairways always in fantastic condition and with all the wildlife to go with it. Carved through untouched forests and wetlands you might find the odd alligator or snake to keep you company!
If you want this kind of thing closer to your villa then Falcons Fire, Metro west and Celebration will cater for your needs. Although a little more expensive, nevertheless there are many other courses right on your doorstep that are worth a visit. Champions Gate Golf Resort, which is just a 2-minute drive from the villa, features two 18 hole championship courses designed by accomplishes architect and golfer, Greg Norman. The complex opened in 2000 and within the first year was already regarded as one of the top golf facilities, not only in Florida but the United States.
The facilities and credits include the following;
World HQ for the David Leadbetter Academy, the most sophisticated learning facility for men, women & children. Leadbetter is ranked #1 among Golf Digest’s 50 greatest teachers in America. Received honourable mention by Golf Magazine’s ‘10 most distinctive places to play’ in the country.
Host site for numerous PGA Chapter & Sections Championships.Hosted the 2002 Florida State Amateur Championship.
Host Site for VIP Oldsmobile Scramble. Host site of numerous Golf week Championships.
Host site for Canadian PGA Tour Qualifying School for 2002/2005.International Course carries highest course rating in the state of Florida at 76.3.
